Job Description

Perform duties to set up and operate a number of different computerized numerical controlled machining operations. Strictly adhere to all documented work procedures for machining operations. Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity. Actively contribute to the improvement of 5S in the department. Actively participate in cross training program to improve and broaden skill set. Promote safety awareness and comply with all safety rules.

General Duties

  • Records all labor and job time accurately in Microsoft Navision
  • Produce all parts per the job routing, quality procedures and manufacturing prints
  • Can perform & train job at rate with minimal supervision after training
  • Can learn to set up all equipment in the department
  • Effective problem-solving and trouble-shooting capabilities
  • Follow all quality system policies and procedures.
  • Maintain neat, well-organized work-area
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder
  • 2+ years experience in a close tolerance manufacturing environment
  • H/S diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience in gear cutting/grinding or other mfg operations
  • Strong knowledge of and experience performing setups including selection of speeds and feeds and making machine adjustments and corrections
  • Ability to verify part conformity using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering printsalong with strong math skills
  • Experience participating in Kaizen Events focused on process improvements using lean manufacturing techniques is a plus
  • Ability to relate to team members well and ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to multitask while being complete and thorough in following documented procedures
  • Ability to escalate production and downtime issues to get them resolved in a timely fashion
  • Attitude of openness to change and exhibit a desire to improve every day
  • Will train a strong candidate with established manufacturing machinist credentials
