Our client, a leader within their industry, is seeking a Sr Developer for a long term contract assignment. This role will enhance, maintain & support computer systems and associated applications through discovery, analysis, development, testing and implementation.Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting issues and addressing concerns while identifying ways to improve the application is expected.
- This role requires the ability to effectively communicate progress/problems to team members & leads.
- Interact with business users when gathering requirements, understanding support concerns, learning business processes, etc.
- The role also requires the ability to create complex program flow diagrams, model complex objects through relationship illustrations and design complex data models.
- In addition, it will be expected that you will provide input and feedback to create advanced application designs.
- It is also expected that tasks will be completed through the development and maintenance of systems and databases objects.
- It is expected that the individual applies judgment in devising program logic while selecting and adapting standard programming procedures.
- The individual will also conduct code review of peers while ensuring code quality and adherence.
- Individuals are expected to develop, maintain, and execute unit and integration tests.
- Additionally, it is expected for the individual to troubleshoot their own work as well as others to ensure there are no problems and debug programs whenever problems arise.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology supporting payroll in a batch environment for a unionized manufacturing company
- 8+ years of experience with Attendance to Gross & Gross to Net payroll systems.
- 8+ years of experience with custom development and SDLC processes
- Knowledge and understanding of Micro Focus Enterprise Server.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Microsoft-based technology products (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Proven knowledge and experience with required languages and tools: JCL, Cobol, PLI, SAS; Visual Studio, GIT, Micro Focus enterprise server, ZENA; specifically Micro Focus COBOL, PL/I & SAS; proven knowledge and experience with DB2, and SQL.
- Working knowledge of simple to mid complexity Workday integrations (i.e., creating new integrations and debugging existing ones while supporting benefits, HCM, and payroll applications).
