Job Description - Application Development Lead
Application Development Manager This role is responsible for leading a team of IT development resources in the tactical activities related to the management, design, development, testing and / or the support of several applications or databases. This role is also responsible for performing resource and workload analysis to effectively prioritize and assign project and support requests. Understands team product offerings to effectively recommend solutions to customers, internal business partners and other IT associates. Possesses full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and also considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Must Have: Application Development Big Plus: Blue Yonder WMS ( JDA/Red Prairie) or Manhattan WMS; Supply Chain, 3PL/3rd Party Logistics Background Project Planning / Administration / Delivery for Application development projects Oversee the development of project and resource plans and validate that all significant plans are optimized with regards to schedule and personnel. Communicate commitment dates to project stakeholders. Project Scope management: develops and maintains project documentation, which includes creating the project charter, project schedule and major milestones, and issues list, establishing work plan, budget, roles/responsibilities and key deliverables. Identifies and obtains commitments from required resources and works with project team through completion of project by sustaining cohesiveness and continual progress to the project work processes. Facilitates the execution of the project in its agreed-upon scope/time/cost baseline and reports variances/deviations. Assists in executing formal reviews on project status and team performance. Promotes client involvement and assures project meets customer requirements. • Monitors projects' cost compared to budget. Uses consistent reporting methods to create and maintain a real time picture of resource utilization and project status. Financial Budgetary understanding of Application Development resources, planning and estimation. People Management Provides ongoing feedback and assessment of team members' performance to senior management. Responsible for the preparation and delivery of performance reviews and other compensation initiatives. Prepares and delivers status reports to senior management and other project leaders General Requires minimal supervision from a more senior manager; accepts responsibility for project success; effective ability to assist others in the completion of assignments through knowledge sharing, effective ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously; effective knowledge of DHL Supply Chain 's business applications and business processes including both third party and in-house developed applications. Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field. Master's degree desirable
- Minimum 5 years experience in an IT environment, preferably in a project leadership or application development role - large company experience preferred .
- Minimum 2 years in an IT project leadership role. Direct and successful accountability for project budgets and time-lines. Experience of system design, development, or integration projects (packaged and custom solutions)
- Experience in the use of project management/planning software.
- Experience in Logistics / Supply Chain industry desirable. WMS (Warehouse Management System JDA/Blue Yonder, Manhattan
- Ability to work well with all levels of management
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Detail oriented, committed to deadlines and have solid verbal and written communication skills
- Travel requirement: 10%
