Job Summary The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch. The National Geospatial Programs subdivision (NGP) serves as the technical and programmatic advisor to the National Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Agency (NGA) and other mission partners involved in the end-to-end GEOINT mission. We are seeking a Remote Sensing Scientist to perform analysis and develop software architectures and implementations to deliver modeling, simulation, and exploitation solutions in support of Hypersonic Glide Vehicle (HGV) Research and Development (R&D) for NGA. What You'll Be Doing- Assisting and advising the government on all aspects HGV R&D to include systems engineering expertise, analytic capability development, and budget programming and planning
- Analyze performance, accuracy, and utility of multiple remote sensing systems, components, and approaches that tie into the HGV R&D efforts
- Investigate existing and pursue unique data exploitation methods and automation techniques (e.g., machine vision, tracking, behavior modeling, spectral material classification)
- Collaborate with other engineers as a team member to solve multi-disciplinary problems
- Prepare and present study results and recommendations to customers and Aerospace management
- Prepare project budgets and manage project resources and execution
- This position is at NASIC in Dayton Ohio and requires occasional domestic travel to meetings, workshops, and field collection campaigns
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or an appropriate technical discipline
- A minimum of 12 years of progressively more responsible experience
- Ability to organize, assemble and lead a multi-disciplinary team from within Aerospace and government organizations.
- Experience working with DoD and IC R&D organizations.
- Professional and technical communication skills such as authoring technical documentation, status reports, presentation charts, and presenting to an audience.
- Advanced degree in engineering or an appropriate technical discipline
- Demonstrated ability to lead mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams in technical, architecture, strategy, and systems engineering projects and tasks
- Experience and expertise in GEOINT collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis
- Experience with image processing for remote sensing systems
- Works well in team-based environments but can also execute tasks with little to no supervision
- Experience working directly with contractors and government customers
- Experience working within the intelligence community and advising senior officials
