Job Number: 722 Riverside Research is seeking a Senior System Administrator, capable of providing information technology (IT) support to groups performing cutting-edge research supporting national security interests. In this position, a successful candidate will leverage experience providing end-user support, but will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, operation, and support of information systems ensuring they are available for the customer to complete their mission. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot complex IT problems using all available resources
  • Provide Tier III support to include investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving IT issues
  • Develop new and maintain existing installation and configuration procedures
  • Apply operating system updates and patches on a monthly basis, at a minimum
  • Ensure proper approval has been granted for each software solution prior to installation
  • Upgrade and configure software per project or operational needs
  • Maintain and administer data retention and recovery solutions
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware in accordance with DoD compliance standards and project requirements
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory including all licensing
  • Ensure that information system security configuration guidelines are followed
  • Coordinate all significant information technology changes with the IT team
  • Recognize a potential security violation and take appropriate action to report and assist the IT team if an incident occurs
  • Create, update, and manage machine images
  • Mentor junior-level IT staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
  • COMPTIA Security+ certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level II equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology/System Administration
  • Working knowledge of SCCM and WSUS

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Information Technology
  • (ISC)2 CISSP Certification
  • Development experience
  • Experience operating in classified or air-gapped network environments
