Overview:

Performs two-dimensional sonographic recordings of heart for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of the heart. Responsible for performing imaging procedures and obtaining high quality images. Must be able to explain examination and procedure to the patient. Assists cardiologist in transesophogeal echocardiograms and other special echo procedures. Participates in QRM activities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Required Education:Minimum of one year of specialized Ultrasound training. Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology and/or Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Preferred Education:
  • Certifications: RDMS or CCI certification within one year of hire date. Current BLS certification. Registration by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Good computer skills.
  • Preferred Other: Additional languages preferred.
