- Responsible for screening life insurance applications and sometimes process the background check of the applicant.
- Responsible for updating and following underwriting guidelines.
- Review the information and determine if coverage is available, if we need additional information or if the applicant does not qualify for coverage.
- Implementation of underwriting processes as related to other department processes.
- Critical thinking skills required on a daily basis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Advance Excel skills, Proficient skills with MS Word and MS-Outlook;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL database preferred
- A combination of experience and education will be considered on an individual basis.
- High school diploma required; Some college coursework preferred
- LOMA I, II would be strongly recommended within 1 year
- Medical terminology is a plus
