The Gig
We are seeking a highly professional individual to contract with us as an Independent Security Guard. This is a 1099 position, offering you the flexibility to manage your schedule and services while providing crucial security and presence for our premises.
NOTE ON CONTRACT STATUS: This is a 1099 position. The Guard operates as an independent business owner and is solely responsible for all income tax, self-employment tax, equipment, and benefits.
Mandatory Insurance Requirement
As an Independent Contractor, you are required to secure and maintain General Liability and Professional Liability (E&O) insurance at your sole expense, with a minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence. Proof of current coverage must be provided before the contract begins and maintained for the duration of the service.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct regular patrols of designated areas (foot and/or vehicle) to ensure the safety and security of property, personnel, and assets.
Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, and control access points.
Deter and report unauthorized persons, disturbances, or suspicious activity.
Respond to alarms and emergency situations according to established protocol.
Accurately document all incidents, daily activities, and irregularities in detailed reports.
Enforce company rules and regulations with professionalism and tact.
Required Qualifications & Certification
CLEET Certification Status is Required:
Currently Certified: Must possess an active, valid CLEET license (Armed or Unarmed) to begin work immediately.
Not Yet Certified: Must be eligible for CLEET licensure and actively enrolled in a CLEET-approved training program. The contract requires that you successfully obtain the required CLEET certification within six (6) months of your start date.
If armed, you must possess or obtain the specific CLEET Armed Security Guard license (Phase I, II, & IV).
Must provide and maintain your own professional uniform and, if armed, your own approved and registered firearm/equipment.
Strong communication skills, exceptional observation abilities, and sound judgment.
Ability to stand, walk, and/or patrol for extended periods.
Compensation
Competitive hourly/daily contract rate based on experience and armed/unarmed status.
Invoices to be submitted monthly.
