JOB SUMMARY. Briefly state why this position exists.Ensures that all warehouse equipment is maintained in safe, efficient operating condition. Performs fire inspections.ESSENTIAL DUTIES.Keep up to date on all maintenance records for warehouse equipment.Perform preventive maintenance for chargers, batteries and material handling equipment on schedule.Issue POs for all parts ordered on approval per management and procures materials and spare parts relating the maintenance of material handling equipment.Issue work orders for all work performed.Perform scheduled monthly fire inspections.Perform monthly sprinkler inspection.Perform maintenance of all warehouse equipment.OTHER DUTIESMay be required to perform maintenance on building components.Maintain material handling and building component repair history records.Other operational duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONSEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent. 4 years technical experience in mechanics & electronics.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork is medium to heavy in nature. Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. - 75 lbs. occasionally. Repair work requires excellent hand and finger dexterity. Frequent standing and bending.MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDSMust be able to read at a distance close to the eyes and at arms length, with or without correction. Trailer back up forklift operation requires distance vision. Must be able to work with little supervision.WORKING CONDITIONSActivities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside. Employee is subjected to extreme cold during freezer work. Subject to hazardous conditions exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high places.EQUIPMENT OPERATEDForklift, welder, power and manual pallet jack reach truck, welder, grinder, cutting torch, variety of hand and power tools.POSITIONS SUPERVISEDNoneLICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIREDIndustrial Equipment license and any other certifications required by OSHA for tasks performed. MHE Certification preferred.
