The Global Risk Management team reports directly to Nike's Board of Directors, and supports management through innovative strategic assurance and dynamic enterprise risk management activities that improve and protect Nike, Inc.'s value. Insights provided to our business partners help them dynamically manage and optimize risk, which ultimately improves business performance and builds resiliency and competitive advantage.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Director, Risk Management you will lead a team that partners with critical business leaders to evolve and implement Nike's enterprise risk portfolio. You will engage across Nike functions and businesses to assess, monitor and anticipate emerging strategic risks to minimize our risk profile. This role is instrumental in building risk intelligence within the Global Risk Management (GRM) function and across our businesses to inform strategic decision making. In this role, you will have an opportunity to partner broadly across the team and enterprise on various pivotal initiatives and special projects, building a strong risk management foundation.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a critical leader you will partner with leaders within our GRM and Finance teams, and across our key partners in the business, focusing on key accountabilities such as:

  • Lead the identification, planning and execution of special projects and strategic risk initiatives across the enterprise, with the support of GRM team members, where applicable
  • Evaluate short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Evaluate strategic, operational, emerging, and financial risks
  • Partner closely with key partners within GRM and business leaders to embed effective risk management practices the support effective decision making and business strategy development.
  • Partner with enterprise leaders to identify and evaluate risks and opportunities, supporting strategic growth opportunities and execution plans.
  • Partner with business leaders and executive risk champions to understand drivers of key risk areas.
  • Drive strategy, execution and operationalize a risk sensing process to monitor internal and external emerging risks, helping the key partners minimize impacts to the strategic portfolio.
  • Lead the team in assessing risks through a broad approach that uses trend analysis, assumptions testing, scenario planning, competitor analysis, etc.
  • Support the communication of the risk assessment landscape to executive management and Audit and Finance Committee to influence behavior and ultimately inspire change.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a key business partner across the Nike, Inc. portfolio, you will report to the Sr. Director, Risk Management, and partner closely across GRM, Finance and key business partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education, experience and training. MBA and other advanced degree highly preferred.
  • 9+ years total business experience (3 years' experience post MBA) in risk management, corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, finance, or related fields.
  • Strategy development experience with global consumer and/or tech enterprises (including internal and/or consulting) preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, partnering with business leaders and influence colleagues across a diverse matrix organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence risk owners and inspire change
  • Ability to lead complex projects across a diverse set of partners
