Composite Approach is a growing composite manufacturer located in beautiful Central Oregon. We are seeking self-motivated technicians with a great attitude who can work both alone and alongside others. Work includes everything from repetitive to very diverse operations.

We are seeking someone with or without experience. Technical and company training will be provided for those with no experience and company training for those with experience. Individuals applying for this position would benefit from having previous exposure to some or all of the below Skills and Responsibilities.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Fabricate, trim, assemble, bond and perform composite hand lay-up and infusion using epoxy and Vinyl Ester resin

systems

Apply knowledge of bonding techniques, utilize precision instruments, hand tools, power tools and equipment

Work from process sheets, or verbal instructions identifying the type and sequence of operations needed to construct

a variety of parts used to produce composite structures to meet customer requirements

Prepare tooling/fixturing used for fabrication and coupon testing

Recognize or learn to solve in-process conditions such as excess or insufficient resin, trapped air pockets or

delamination

Prepare ingredients, such as resins, catalysts, fillers, accelerators, and colors, according to process

Set up and release molds of various surfaces, apply reinforcements and resins to shape simple and complex parts

that can be removed from the mold surfaces

Cut material to size, using shears, knives, cutters, scissors, router, or saw

Lay out cutting lines on materials, such as sheet stock, fiberglass, or core maximum, following template pattern,

blueprints, sketches, or sample part, using measuring and marking instruments

Cure product with various methods of operation

Verify work using measuring devices, height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.

Comply with AS9100 requirements to complete paperwork as needed to create part documentation and work

instructions

High attention to detail to adhere to quality standards on all work performed

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Training of hard and soft skills provided

Requirements:

Maintain effective housekeeping in the area of work and shop.

Observe all safety rules and regulations.

Demonstrate ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of individuals within and outside

the company, to maximize equipment, manufacturing reliability, and productivity.

High attention to detail.

Some computer skills including electronic messaging.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and operating procedure manuals.

Represent Composite Approach, as a visible member of the team, in a professional manner that is in line with the

standards and values of our company’s culture.

Willingness to learn, be flexible, and take on new tasks.

Assist in improving process, equipment dependability, and productivity.

Available normal business hours with occasional weekend work totaling 40 hours/week.

Working Environment:

Meet physical requirements including ability to: lift 50lbs, bend/stoop, twist, crouch/squat, kneel, crawl, walk on

even and uneven surfaces, climb steps and ladders, work at heights, reach above and below shoulder, and able to

grasp/squeeze objects.

Dusty and sticky conditions: this position deals with resin mixing, catalysts, sanding, cutting and trimming of

composite materials – PPE provided.
