Pahlisch Commercial, Inc., sister company of Pahlisch Homes, Inc., is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent in the Central Oregon Region.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting with all on-site activities of the construction project including safety, quality control, coordinating trade partners, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Assist as needed with the scopes of work, bid package development and help solicit subcontractors and suppliers

- Assist with the development of the site utilization plan

- Assist Project Manager in the development and coordination of the Loss Prevention and Quality Control

program

- Review submittal log

- Participate in subcontractor project orientation meetings

- Review all submittal data and shop drawings to ensure project schedules are expedited and materials are delivered on time

- Assist with scheduling and managing all preconstruction meetings

- Assist with for daily reporting

- Work with project manager to ensure project cost control

- Assist the Superintendent to create and maintain the project master schedule

- Assist the Superintendent with the 3 week look ahead schedules

- Review change documents to subcontractors/suppliers and assist in collecting pricing and/or preparing change proposal requests for internal pricing review

- Assist the Superintendent with the oversight of performance of all trade partners and review architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed

- Perform on-site inspections of the various subcontractors work to ensure that the level of quality is in compliance

- Assist in maintaining records of job changes, including option orders and purchase orders

- Assist in managing and maintaining safety and housekeeping procedures

- Assist in the evaluation of subcontractors and product performance

- Assists in the maintenance of a clean job site for sub-contractors

- Assist in management of building inspection process, customer concerns, and relations

- Strong understanding of commercial building codes and the ability to build in accordance to code

- Routinely perform miscellaneous construction activities such as framing, sheet rock, concrete forming, rebar placement, cleanup, etc¦¦

- Routinely operate construction equipment such as forklifts, trackhoes, skid loaders, back back blowers, hot saws, etc.

- Build effective working relationships with building officials

- Ability to effectively manage oneself and other in conflict situations

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven track record of outstanding customer service and performance

- 2+ years minimum experience in commercial construction, 2+ years specific to multi-family.

- Trade experience is preferred but not required.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Excellent organizational skills

- Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity both in and out of work environment

- Able to work in a team environment

- Ability to work full-time outdoors in year-round weather conditions

- Physically able to climb stairs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach , lift

- Physically able to move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 lbs.

- Reliable transportation

- Ability to work extended hours as needed
