Job Summary
Our Logistics Specialist must have the desire and ability to build strong working relationships with customers and team members, and possess the skill needed to provide comprehensive distribution solutions. A natural passion for innovation and learning is required to grasp and guide the customers vision. On a daily basis, a disciplined approach is needed to meet transport needs using the companys software and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this position must be highly organized, must enjoy collaborating closely with team members, and flexible in thought in order to adjust to requests for last minute changes.
Basic Responsibilities
Enter customer orders into our companys Transport Management System.
Develop loads and delivery options for customers.
Schedule appointments for deliveries, and outbound appointments departure warehouses.
Collaborate with management to modify routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
Act as a communication liaison and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road.
Cultivate strong relationships with carriers, drivers and customers to avoid complexity or stress that can accompany last minute schedule changes.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Advanced Responsibilities
Meet with clients as needed to develop supply chain solutions to meet their needs.
Develop relationships with new Carriers in order to build an increasing pool of delivery options.
Advanced logistics analysis and delivery routing.
Evaluate, innovate and re-invent customers distribution model to meet their unique needs.
Required Skills
Successful work experience as dispatcher or other relevant position.
Familiar with Macintosh and PC operating systems, MS Office Suite and Google suite of applications.
Rapid and accurate typing with experience in data entry.
Fluent in English (oral and written), other languages a plus.
Outstanding organizational skills and prioritization abilities.
Intentional, active listener with exceptional communication skills.
Strong character, sound judgement, a level head, and critical thinking.
Ability to work in a team environment on deadline.
