University Housing & Dining Services at Oregon State University seeks a lead Bakery Sous Chef to join a culinary team working to elevate the on-campus dining experience. Minimum qualifications include: Associates degree, vocational or technical degree in Culinary Arts/Pastry, completion of a certified culinary/pastry/baker apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted. At least 2 years full time work experience as a Bakery/Pastry Sous Chef or Lead Baker in a large commercial restaurant, hotel, catering, or institution. Experience baking from scratch. Demonstrated ability to coach, teach, and relate well to a variety of individuals in a positive manner; excellent communication and organizational skills; passion for baking and the food service industry; and knowledge of food allergens, special dietary needs, and safe food handling principles.
