SPRING HILL GOLF CLUB ALBANY, OREGON
POSITION: Greenskeeper
REPORTS TO: Agronomist, Superintendent, Golf course Foreman
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Full-Time
BASIC FUNCTIONS: This individual will be performing all of the basic golf course maintenance practices. They will help prepare the course and grounds for golfers.
CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS NEEDED:
Previous experience on a golf course, or with landscaping is preferred.
Perform tasks needed to keep equipment and maintenance facility clean, organized and safe.
Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
Ability to work cohesively with coworkers as part of a team.
Ability to focus attention on details.
Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
Must have a valid Drivers license.
Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions.
Ability to visually inspect golf course conditions and report findings.
Maintain a positive attitude to meet the standards of the Department and the Company.
Should have some mechanical understanding or ability.
Must be willing to work a variety of hours and in all kinds of weather conditions.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT AND JOB FUNCTIONS:
All tractor related operations: Mowing, aerifying, loader, blower, plus all other tractor usage.
Perform landscaping tasks throughout the property as directed.
Maintenance and preparation of flower beds.
Course service and set up.
Any piece of equipment that performs mowing functions (walking or riding mowers).
Operate Edgers and weedeaters, along with other hand held equipment.
Reports any problems with equipment to the Equipment Manager and the Supervisor.
Aerifying and grooming practices on greens, tees, and fairways.
Divot filling and mixing of materials.
Sod cutter and laying sod.
Utility vehicle operations.
Blower operations.
Hand raking and sand pro operation.
Help with the hand watering of the golf course as needed.
Will be expected to complete all golf maintenance practices to company standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position will require heavy and physical labor, and may be required to work in an environment that includes such activities as: bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting. May need to lift up to 100lbs occasionally and up to 50lbs frequently.
Works primarily outdoors, potential exposure to inclement weather, hazards associated with being around golfing & equipment hazards.

COMPENSATION: $11.50 or more per hour Dependent upon experience
