Part-Time Graphic Designer for the City of Albany
This position is designed for an individual who enjoys working in a creative environment and regularly notices how company materials or websites could be improved visually.
Provide graphic design support to Parks & Recreation Department.
Facilitate and implement design process for print, social media, and multimedia presentations.
Develop designs that represent the Parks & Recreation brand.
Create innovative and engaging designs for printed materials including ads, mailings, fliers, banners, lawn signs, event print, posters, and brochures.
Ensure designs meet department and division needs. Utilize research, discussions, team meetings, and brainstorming to determine approach and design concept.
Develop designs for social media and multimedia commercials and communication as needed.
Design and create a variety of department documents determining appropriate size, graphic elements, and typography.
Update existing inventory of signage, banners, and ads.
Update website and branding as appropriate.
Catalog graphic images and store to appropriate locations.
Work collaboratively with the Parks & Recreation team to create and design products.
Represent the City of Albany and Albany Parks & Recreation Department by providing prompt, professional, courteous support and interactions in a positive manner
Compile appropriate documentation and forms in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications-
Associates Degree, and two years of experience in graphic design education or equivalent experience
Background and knowledge of print and web media.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
Ability to work independently and utilize leadership skills and a high-level of initiative
Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally Must have valid drivers License and good driving record
Hours are Flexible day shift 20 hours a week possibly more during busy season
