Job Description:
As the Retail Farm Assistant, one must be familiar with growing plants such as vegetable or flower gardening. This position is essentially responsible for the presentation of the retail area, maintenance of the growing area and the interaction with the retail customers.
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service.
Make sure all products are put up in a timely fashion.
Maintain plant health by correct care and placement.
Ensure displays are watered, swept and cleaned.
Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain proper accountability on register.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Experience growing plants preferred.
Ability to communicate with customers, other peers and management.
Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Ability to work with a cash register.
Able to receive complaints and problems as they arise from customers.
The ability to stand on your feet for 5 to 8 hour days
The ability to lift 20lbs repeatedly and ability to lift up to 50lbs.
The ability to work in the outdoors, which could include weather as cold as 40 degrees, as hot as 95 degrees, and long term exposure to the sun.
Ability to adapt to many different situations and seasonal changes in sales and merchandise
Position Starting April and goes through June 23rd. (Additional hours available in June)
Hours: F 11:45am-5:15pm | Sat 8:45-4:15 | Sun 10-4 (all weekends required, Friday hours are not required)
