LAN Administrator in Philomath, OR

Oregon, Corvallis/albany, 97330 Corvallis/albany USA

Vacancy expired!

We are Pioneer Connect, a broadband company located in Philomath. We provide internet and phone services that keep our customers connected from the central Oregon Coast to the Willamette Valley. We are working on some exciting projects, including building a new fiber network that will bring blazing internet speeds up to 1 Gig to our customers.

That kind of service and growth also requires some great help behind the scenes. This Information Technology position will be responsible for supporting the behind-the-scenes hardware and software of the company.

Specifically, this role will contribute to:

Hardware: servers, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers

You’ll administer internal hardware, from recommending purchasing decisions, setup, company and employee support, backups, printers, device upgrades and support, and other activities to keep the machines running….and at bay.

Software: We need software for all that hardware, and you’ll be the primary support member for this. This includes adding new users, testing or helping to test new software, and running backups and administration for this. Key software to be knowledgeable:

· Office 365

· VPN

· Active Directory

· IVUE NISC – a definite plus

Though you may not have experience with software specific to our company, being open to manage this, and having a support & “roll up the sleeves” mindset to learn and adapt will be critical

Security: Maintaining hardware and software leads to protecting it. You’ll support the IT team in keeping these things running smoothly, and also protecting them from those who try to do otherwise. You’ll help in setting and implementing cybersecurity strategy, policy, and solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· 3+ years experience in operations and administration of computer systems and PC-based applications.

· Highly knowledgeable in operations and administration of various computer systems, such as MS Office 365, MS Servers, and TCP/IP.

· Familiarity with networking hardware such as printers, routers, and switches.

· Problem-solving mentality, and experience.

We offer an insurance package which provides full-family, employer-paid health coverage and a generous retirement program. Taking care of you is important to us!
