About the Program

Columbia River Ranch is a residential treatment facility operated by ColumbiaCare Services with clinical services provided by Community Counseling Solutions. Columbia River Ranch has 11treatment beds and 1short term crisis resolution bed. It is located on 5 acres of working farm land with ponies, chickens and ducks, and is located just outside of Boardman, Oregon.

About the Position

We have a Part-Time opening for Support Specialist for our Columbia River Ranch facility in Boardman, Oregon. ColumbiaCare Services is looking for the right individual to work peer to peer, (meaning you are affected by mental illness), and are willing to share your personal experiences with adult consumers affected by a severe and persistent mental illness, while effectively managing your own symptoms.

Work Schedule: 8 hours a week, day is flexible as needed

This position will be required to support in the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; adhere to policies and procedures; perform clinical documentation, demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics; be willing to share personal mental illness experiences with peers; and facilitate groups focused on peer-to peer topics; May participate in review and/or interview team for prospective new clients; May assist consumers with direct community resources, shopping-on-a-budget, etc. In addition, direct care staff must be willing and able to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.

Qualifications

MUST have personal experience with mental illness and the ability to effectively manage own symptoms.

PREFERRED that candidate meet State of Oregon QMHA credentials by one of our following criteria OR be both certified and registered as a Peer Support Specialist through the Oregon Health Authority:

a) Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR THREE (3) YEARS of verifiable mental health experience working with SPMI population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

$15.00-$18.50 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials. We offer an On Call Incentive Bonus & An additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 12:00am (midnight) - 6:00am. ColumbiaCare offers a comprehensive benefits package for part-time employees (30 hours per week), Medical/Dental/Vision coverage, 9 paid Holidays per year (eligible immediately), substantial Sick Accruals (12 days per year each) and Wellness Benefit of $400 per year.
