JOB SUMMARY:
Seneca Sawmill in Eugene is looking for a skilled forklift driver with experience in an industrial setting. Positions are available on swing shift, working 12-hour shifts either Wednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday. Position involves driving forklift to ensure smooth operation of Stud Mill rough stacker outfeed, Stud Mill Planer infeed, and Hew Saw outfeed; loading and unloading kiln charges; fixing rough units of lumber by aligning and replacing kiln sticks; trimming off long boards; and adding or subtracting boards to make even loads. Additional duties include banding and filling units of kiln stickers, putting up re-saw loads, moving chip cars, keeping work areas clean, and helping with kiln maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive a forklift all day
- Perform equipment checks every morning
- Constantly reach with arms to operate controls for machine
- Ability to twist upper body and neck while driving forklift in reverse
- Ability to get in and out of forklift throughout the day
- Ability to see to drive in all types of weather, day or night
- Ability to work well with others
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience operating forklift in an industrial setting.
- 6 months of continuous employment within the last year.
