Merete Hotel Management is currently looking to add to their Hotel Security team! The Security Supervisor oversees the security team. In charge of scheduling, hiring, discipline, and performance evaluations for the department. Secures hotel by checking doors, lights, ground area and parking lot on a routine basis consistently over night. Responds to guest requests for assistance. Investigates noise complaints or any other complaints made by guests/staff regarding the safety/ security of the hotel and grounds.

This position works the graveyard shifts. 40 hours a week. Â

Full Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

Supervises the security team. Trains and coaches team members. Performs security patrols, enforces hotel security procedures, protecting property from theft, sabotage, fire and accidents. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security related situations. Provide any needed assistance to customers, employees and visitors within the hotels procedures, and performs other related duties as assigned. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:Â ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

Constantly standing/walking on tile, carpet, cement. Stooping, crouching, kneeling. Lifting /carrying average weight frequently 5 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling average weight frequently 10 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 50 lbs.ÂÂ

WORKINGÂÂCONDITIONS:Â ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations. Working with and exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise. Must adhere to company safety standards and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who may be emotionally upset. Must be able to communicate in English. Must be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to use tools and equipment required.

Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a hotel environment and enforcement procedures. Ability to create, motivate, and lead a team. Effectively manage time. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write and investigate required reports; to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
