Responsibilities
Structural Steel, Handrails, Guardrails, Stairs, Gates, Enclosures.
Interpret weld symbols, dimensions, materials on drawings and work orders
Follow Direction from Supervisor and other lead staff
Verifies orders for correct quantity (follow prints and/or directions)
Performs skilled welding following standardized procedures
Learns job related material primarily through verbal instruction and observation
Visually inspects completed welds to determine compliance with standards and checks quality and appearance of finished product - We strive to ensure our product leaves our site as quality work
Works safely without presenting a direct threat to self and others. Follow all PPE & OSHA Standards
Works cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality product. We work as a team every day!
Reacts to change productively and handles other essential tasks as assigned. Some tasks can change throughout the day, potential for stressful days.
Qualifications
Knowledge of various weld types – stick, mig and tig
Knowledge of various cutting types – band saw, torch, plasma and shear
Knowledge of various material types – carbon steel, stainless and aluminum
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the steel fabrication industry.
Experience operating overhead / jib cranes
Experience with iron worker processes and operation
Ability to work both unsupervised and as a team player with diverse personalities to achieve completion of projects on schedule and within quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications
Physical requirements
Position requires being on your feet most of the day
Must be able to bend, squat, twist and kneel
Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
