WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the APLA Inventory Reporting Accounting Manager, you will have an outstanding opportunity to be part of the APLA Geography and Global Innovation and Supply Chain Accounting (ISCC) team. We strive to deliver sustainable excellence across our processes, systems and controls to ensure financial statement accuracy and to enable Nike's operational and marketplace strategies and ongoing growth.

While mastering and performing the fundamentals will be critical, your ability to operate in a very dynamic environment and work effectively with a variety of internal partners will also be critical. You will work within a sophisticated matrix, collaborating with teams in Supply Chain Operations, Inventory Management, Finance and Technology.

You'll need a strategic approach, a bias towards action and change, and a dedication to execution. You will need to develop meaningful relationships with senior management to ensure success of our long term vision. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Ensure key financial assertions are met with respect to Inventory, COGS and related accounts through development of a comprehensive control structure across the transaction stream(s)
  • Develop and produce monthly reporting on inventory metrics that track and indicate inventory health in the geography by territory
  • Assess the sufficiency of management estimates around the valuation of inventory
  • Review monthly/quarterly territory closing and reporting schedules for accuracy
  • Complete the monthly and quarterly accounting and financial reporting schedules including the Financial Statement and Balance Sheet review
  • Develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers of the business while demonstrating proficiency of US GAAP, particularly around Inventory and COGS
  • Partner with Demand and Supply Management and Financial Planning to report inventory movements in both dollars and units
  • Lead the implementation of key accounting and operational policies within the geography
  • Participate in the development of Global Inventory and Supply Chain's strategic objectives
  • Be a leader within the larger Nike Finance and Controlling Organization to develop, embrace and deliver best practices

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be part of the APLA Controlling organization, reporting to the APLA Inventory and Supply Chain Accounting Director. In this position, you will work closely with Territory inventory and supply chain accounting leads, Demand Supply Management (DSM) and APLA financial planning teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance or related functions
  • Big 4 Public accounting and CPA preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills along with SAP, BW, BPC, and Tableau is a plus
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation and influencing skills
  • Extensive US GAAP experience and technical accounting knowledge around Inventory / COGS preferred
