Description:We are looking for 5 Level II Technicians (break fix dimm/drive exposure) for a 12+ month project. The customer is building out a new DC in Hillsboro and they need to have these techs in place in order to start adding their clients. We need skilled DC Techs to ensure that the data servers and networks perform optimally. In this role, your duties will include installing and upgrading system components, as well as providing network support. You will also be required to perform maintenance and repairs on servers and network equipment.To ensure success as a DC Technician, you should exhibit extensive experience in ensuring optimal efficiency of data center infrastructure. They are looking for DC Techs who will perform tasks required as well as take proactive measures to prevent loss of data and damage to networks.Data Center Technician Responsibilities:Monitoring and performing on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment.Providing IT support to staff and customers, as well as responding to server and network issues.Protecting company data by preventing the overheating of data center components.Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner.Monitoring all network processes to ensure the smooth flow of data across the network.Collaborating with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency.Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.Documenting processes and keeping event logs.Advising on the procurement of new data center equipment.Keeping track of developing trends in data center technologies.Data Center Technician Requirements:CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network, or CCNP certifications are a big plus, but not required.3-4 years of experience as a DC Technician, or similar.2 years of working in datacenter environments, servers, and network equipment.Experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.Ability to keep up with advancements in datacenter infrastructure and technologies.Proficiency in documenting network processes.Exceptional communication skills.Willingness to respond to network and server errors after hours.The work is very straight forward and 99% of the time the ticket system (ServiceNow) lays the work and task out for the Technician.The schedule is a bit flexible, but typical 8-5 hours.Skills:Data center, Infrastructure, Rack and stack, Racking, Cat6, Cable, Cabling, Cat5, Install, Stacking, Hardware troubleshooting, Maintenance repair, hardware installation, driver management, network connectivity, data center maintenance, cable installation, TroubleshootingTop Skills Details:Data center,Infrastructure,Rack and stack,Racking,Cat6,Cable,Cabling,Cat5,Install,Stacking,Hardware troubleshooting, Maintenance repairAdditional Skills & Qualifications:The main driver for these openings is the buildout of the Hillsboro DC. It will be new installs and as they get clients in, then there will be an increase in break fix tickets coming through.
