Sr. QA Engineer (mobile/online banking) Location: Hillsboro, OR Duration: 6 months+

The Senior QA Engineer, API analyzes requirements to understand the system integrations aspects of program/project needs, develops testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and performs manual and automated functional testing, performance and load testing for the solutions using API & Integration testing tools and techniques, API Management Platforms, and other technologies. This position works closely with peers, stakeholders and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, manual and automated functional testing, regression testing, performance and load testing for system integration programs and projects involving API and Integration Management Platforms, tools and techniques and other technologies to meet committed deliverables
  • Partner and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to deliver solutions to meet the business need with quality and within the defined timeline
  • Create and maintain complex system and testing process flow documents to support the full software development lifecycle
  • Work with product managers, project managers, and business units to define and prioritize the team backlog to meet deliverables in a fast paced agile/scrum environment
  • Facilitate and lead the team's daily stand up meetings, sprint planning meetings, demo meetings, release planning meetings, and provide estimate for team backlog items and tasks
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
  • Collaborate with business partners, architect and technical groups to review technical system testing flows
  • Participate and identify potential gap in solutions and assess them for both technical and business suitability, as part of the production go-live warranty support period and L3 production support of systems during regular and off-hours
  • Lead performance testing, work with technical groups to tune and optimize programs and processes to meet the SLAs
  • As a subject matter expert, mentor less experienced QA Engineers on a day to day basis

Experience and Education Requirement:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or other related fields of study
  • Minimum 6 years' experience as a QA engineer, preferably in the financial services industry, including experience with testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, manual and automated functional testing, regression testing, and performance and load testing
  • Minimum 2 years' experience leading complex and large scale applications involving systems integrations, API Management Platforms, Tools, and Techniques
  • Minimum 4 years' API & integration testing experience
  • Excellent skills in developing testing strategy, plan, approach, scenarios, test cases, test scripts, functional testing, regression testing, automation, performance and load testing
  • Excellent knowledge of software development testing tools and technologies: Middleware Platforms such as BizTalk and Mulesoft, API Management Platforms such as Google/APIGEE, API Testing
  • Excellent knowledge of performance and automation tools such as JMeter/SoapUI/Postman/WAPT/Selenium/HP Quality Center/LoadRunner/WinRunner,
  • Excellent knowledge of XML, JSON, XSLT, SQL, No SQL, databases, JIRA, Confluence, MS SharePoint, and project management tools
  • Excellent knowledge with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Development Process including Testing, CI/CD processes, understanding functional and technical requirements and creating testing artifacts, and process improvement
  • Experience with various integration testing methods using API Management Platforms, Tools, and Techniques, application monitoring tools such as Nagios, Dynatrace, New Relic
  • Expertise in a wide variety of systems integrations with various platforms such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Web, Core Banking, Fiserv, CO-OP, FIS, Consumer Lending, Mortgage, Zelle Network, and financial institution specific applications
  • Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to understand the technical landscape and strategy
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Superb business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
