Our Tool Install Mechanical Designers are responsible for calculating duct and pipe size, determining duct and pipe routing paths, and producing AutoCAD drawings from design data provided by our tool suppliers. They are much more than drafters picking up red marks - you will work closely with engineers and other designers as an integral member of a multiple-discipline design team that produces unique tool install designs in a high-paced environment. As part of this team, you will develop design concepts and coordinate designs to resolve both real and modeled conflicts. You will be responsible for managing your own workload, making and keeping your own commitments, and taking full ownership of your product. Daily job duties include:

• Create mechanical drawings to meet design and client needs• Perform all appropriate calculations (e.g. water, exhaust, and gas flow) required for the mechanical design packages.• Conduct field investigations of construction site and clean room environments to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design packages.• Manage and incorporate electronic redlines from the Mechanical Engineer using established company workflows.• Coordinate with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, and Architectural) for design package needs.• Ensure quality control by complying with team Design and CAD standards.• Attend design review meetings, note all design comments, and pick up the resulting redlines.• Assist colleagues with CAD support.• Provide quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met• Coordinate with document control personnel for review and transmission of design packages.

Summary of Overall Requirements• Must be authorized to work in the United States• Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Portland OR metro area on a permanent basis• Be able to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly, from 8:00 to 5:00 daily, Monday-Friday

Computer Skill Requirements• Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook – Proficient• Autodesk AutoCAD® 2D – Experienced

• Autodesk AutoCAD® 3D/Revit®/Inventor® - Desired• PIPE-FLO® - Desired

Skills/Abilities• Familiar with the International and Oregon Mechanical Codes• Ability to read, understand, and create Mechanical Duct and Piping Schematics• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for sizing and installing process gas and hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork in commercial and industrial buildings.• Able to prepare complete, concise, and organized CAD models, written reports, and drawings in .dwf and .dwg format as needed.• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with quick turn-around times.• Comfortable working independently as well as in an interactive design environment.

Education Requirements• High School Diploma or GED - Required• Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Preferred• Mechanical EIT or PE – Not required, but a plus
