Job Description

The Springs at Carman Oaksis looking for a cheerful, optimistic, organized and motivated individualwho loves to enrich the lives of seniors.

This position is specifically responsible for planning and implementing meaningful and appropriate activities for our residents, with an emphasis on

The 7 Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Intellectual, Spiritual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, and Environmental.

The Life Enrichment Director is critical to the satisfaction of our residents and to our mission of helping people Live Life to its Fullest. Because our residents deserve the best, you are held to a high standard for quality and customer service. Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

1. Leading the preparation and execution of monthly programming, emphasizing the 7 Dimensions of Wellness, for our Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.

2. Informingresidents of daily activities with printed calendars, newsletters, flyers, invitations, and other various publications.

3. Planning, coordinating, and assisting with tasteful decoration of community for special events and holidays.

4. Consulting with and leading theLife Enrichment team members to assure a stable staff of assistants and/or volunteers by recruiting, hiring/signing up, supervising/encouraging, evaluating and counseling, when necessary.

5. Assuringthat activities are offered as scheduled or, if cancelled, that appropriate alternatives are offered or notification is distributed in a timely manner.

6. Coordinatingany transportation needs related to various events and activities with the Transportation team. Driving facility vehicles safely to and from required destinations and according to schedule as necessary.

7. Assisting with the development of the departmental budget and monitor monthly expenses as budgeted on a regular basis.

8. Maintaining professional certifications including but not limited to; Personal Training Certification, CPR and First Aid.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in Wellness and Activities programming in a senior housing community including designing and facilitating all aspects of a comprehensive program.
  • The applicant must pass a drug screen and criminal history check at time of hire.
