Job Description

Primary Purposes

  1. Assist in executing asset management strategy for seniors housing portfolio
  2. Efficiently report and model accurate seniors housing capital transactions
  3. Support in strengthening visibility into capital structure and investment performance, opportunity, and risk

Essential Functions

  • Asset Management
    • Assess the performance of the assets relative to original underwriting, budget, forecast competitors, and market competition
    • Perform regular compliance tests for loan covenants and execute lender financial and operator covenant calculations and reporting
    • Prepare internal management reporting on capital performance, risks, and opportunities
    • Manage and monitor real estate reserves in addition to capital expenditure and large renovations reporting
  • Capital Market Transactions and Investor Relations
    • Participate in loan structuring and underwriting processes from origination through closing for seniors housing financing transactions
    • Assist in financial analysis, modeling, and transactional support including running closing checklist and post-closing follow through for real estate transactions
    • Assist in the coordination, creation, and assembly of investor packages, investment committee materials, and debt packages
    • Ad hoc lender and investor reporting and analysis
    • Review and analyze loan documents and other agreements
  • Contribute to Real Estate Investments team to help identify ways to improve and streamline business processes including collaborating across different groups to look for process efficiencies
  • Own strategic projects that contribute to the overall growth and success of the team
  • Support the team in managing relationships with external partners, including investors, lenders, and legal counsel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, real estate, or business
  • Minimum of five years of underwriting, financial modeling, asset management, corporate and finance transactional experience preferably in the seniors housing, commercial real estate, or hospitality industry
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate market factors and valuations preferred
