Business Director “ Woodland Charter School

Woodland Charter School is seeking a Business Director for our growing public Waldorf school. Located in a lovely rural setting, Woodland serves approximately 190 students in grades 1-8. We are looking for someone to help usher our school into the next phase of our growth. The administration of our school is split between two roles, the Business Director and the Education Director. These positions will work cooperatively and report to the Charter Council. This role requires flexibility, collaboration, great people skills, management experience and a sound financial background.

The main duties of this position are as follows:

Primarily responsible for the financial health of our school

Development and administration of the annual budget

Financial reporting to the Charter Council

Coordination of the annual audit

Coordinating all aspects of bookkeeping “ A/P, payroll, deposits, etc

Co-leading the Leadership & Finance Committee

Grant Writing

Human Resources including administration of all employee benefits

Hiring and performance review of employees

Supervising all designated employees

Participating in the dispute and resolution procedure

Knowledge of and review of all school policies

Establishing procedures designed to carry out newly defined/adopted policies

Documenting all business administrative procedures

Attending district administrative meetings as requested

Ensuring compliance with Charter Agreement and accountability with district as required

Staying abreast of Charter School laws and legislation and ensuring compliance as necessary

Overseeing site safety

Attending Waldorf charter school administrators meetings and trainings

Attending school community meetings including Parent Council, etc

Coordinating marketing and outreach efforts

The successful applicant with have a Bachelors degree or higher (preferably in a business-related field), leadership and management skills, a financial background and a desire to work with a large and varied community.
