Woodland Charter School, in beautiful Murphy, Oregon, is seeking a dynamic part-time Music teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. We seek an experienced Music teacher to join our harmonious faculty of Waldorf-trained Main Lesson teachers and Special Subject teachers in a public Waldorf-methods 1st - 8th grade school. We offer a competitive hourly salary, with paid professional development opportunities offered as budget permits.
The Waldorf music curriculum has a strong focus on choral singing and string instruments. The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree and demonstrable skill in classroom management. A degree in an education related field, a Waldorf certificate/Waldorf teaching experience, and Oregon teacher licensure are all highly desirable qualifications. Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire for warm collegiality with educational peers and equally warm relationships with families and children are vital characteristics that will ensure a good fit with our school community.
Our school, which opened in October 2012, expects an enrollment of about 190 students in September 2019 in grades 1- 8. Our curriculum includes the following special subjects: Spanish, Music, Handwork, Games/Movement.
