General Statement of Responsibilities

Demonstrate a willingness to develop the assigned athletic program, through participation in community awareness/fundraising events, recruitment of players, maintenance of professional and positive relationships with players, helpers, staff and administration. Effectively coach and develop student-athletes academically, socially and athletically. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with ethical and legal aspects of coaching and athletics as stated in college and league (NWAC) policy, as well as state and federal law. Works collaboratively with college groups, councils and committees as needed. In conjunction with the Athletic Director, manages the budget, monitors academic progress and eligibility of players, and contributes to the development of athletic department strategic plan initiatives and RCC enrollment goals.

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Coaching experience with athletes of high-school age or above required. Successful coaching of young adults or adults, successful intercollegiate coaching and recruiting experience preferred. Coaching experience with athletes at the college level or above. USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) Level 1 or equivalent certification.

Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute for the requirement(s).

Only degrees received from an accredited institution will be accepted: accreditation must be recognized by the office of degree authorization, US Department of Education, as required by ORS 348.609. Final candidate will be required to provide official transcripts for required degree.

This is an adjunct faculty pool for coaching in the Athletic department. The pool will remain open until filled with an expected start date of January 1, 2019. Applications will be reviewed and candidates will be contacted and interviewed as positions become available.
