About the Position

We have a Full-Time opening for a Wellness Coordinator with the opportunity to be based out of our Administrative Office in Southern Oregon, or our Portland Service Center in Portland, OR. We are looking for a dynamic individual to act as a lead in the development and implementation of our client Whole Health and Wellness Program. This position will be responsible for ongoing education/training in multiple formats, consultation, and support for staff in a variety of service settings across the State for the purpose of helping them engage clients living with a mental illness in health and wellness programming. The goal of ColumbiaCares client health and wellness program is to provide client-centered, trauma-informed approaches to improved health and wellbeing; to further integrate mental health and physical health care; and reduce costs to the healthcare system. Travel will be required for this position.

Essential duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Conducting individual program health and wellness assessments;

Providing staff education on how to lead small groups and perform motivational interviewing techniques around client wellness;

Develop programming for staff implementation around good nutrition; healthy meal planning and cooking (on a budget); tobacco cessation; managing stress/anxiety; promoting healthy sleep; health integration and coordination between programs and primary care providers; implementing appropriate exercise as part of daily activities offered; and promoting healthy social activities

Educating staff on health indicators such as BMI, Hypertension, and Diabetes.

Utilizing company tools and coordinating with existing health services and program professionals to track and analyze client health data (establish baselines and present trends and outcomes)

Staying up to date on health and wellness research and standards.

Providing consultation to Administrators and QMHPs to help create client activities that align with the Wellness Program mission statement, and are billable and to the extent possible, self-sustaining

Work Schedule: Monday “ Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm with travel flexibility

Qualifications

MUST possess a Bachelors Certification in health education, health coaching, nursing, health promotion, athletic training, nutrition, or related field. With TWO (2) YEARS experience preferred.

PREFER QMHA Certified through Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) -OR- Meet eligibility qualifications to register with MHACBO

State of Oregon QMHA credentials criteria:

a)Bachelors degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b)OR minimum 6,000 HOURS of verifiable mental health experience working with Severe Persistent Mental Illness population in a supervised social service setting;

c)OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon drivers license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $3,466 per month/DOE and QMHA credentials. This is a salary exempt position.
