Shop mechanic needed in White City for a large fleet of light duty trucks, heavy duty trucks, commercial vehicles and miscellaneous construction equipment. The Shop Mechanic will take direction from the Shop Manager and will be responsible for correcting failures and monitoring the functioning of the company’s vehicles and equipment. The Shop Mechanic will have knowledge of the functionality of a variety of commercial vehicles and heavy equipment in order to perform highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs. The Shop Mechanic will diagnose problems and potential issues in equipment/vehicles and repair and/or replace the faulty part. A full road test will be performed after each repair to determine if the vehicle is ready for use. The Shop Mechanic will hold the highest standards of safety and quality in mind prior to clearing a vehicle and/or piece of equipment for use by any employee. The Shop Mechanic will work in both a team environment and independently, keep a well-organized and clean shop, have strong organizational skills and be highly proficient in repair projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Must have considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.

- Must have the ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.

- Must have working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

- Must be skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment.

- Must have the ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.

- Must possess and maintain a CDL Class A License in the state of Oregon.

- Must have extensive knowledge of repair procedures, including, but not limited to, fabrication procedures.

- Must have extensive knowledge of safety procedures with hand tools and chemicals.

- Must have basic knowledge of computer software and operating systems.

- Must be able to communicate effectively (written, oral, and electronic) with all levels of staff, vendors, and members of the community.

- Must be able to understand, prioritize, and carry out complex oral and written directives and instructions.

- Must have strong organizational skills and be detailed oriented.

- Must be highly motivated and able to self-manage while working independently.

Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation:

Compensation commensurate to experience
