$1200 Sign-On Bonus! Coastline is a day treatment program with a youth client base. The perfect candidate for this position would be a QMHP level or higher therapist who has a passion for changing lives and building resilience and coping skills in our youth. You will be joining an expert team of enthusiastic individuals who devote their time to making an impact by promoting mental wellness, instilling hope, and changing the way society looks and reacts to mental health needs.
This position is a member of the interdisciplinary team providing psychiatric services to youth and families. The Individual family therapist provides comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment plans and interventions within the framework of Collaborative Problem Solving.
To qualify as a QMHP level or higher therapist, you must meet the state classifications, which includes a degree in:
· Graduate degree in Psychology
· Graduate degree in Social Work
· Graduate degree in Recreational, Art, or music therapy
· Graduate degree in a behavioral science field or
· Be a qualified Mental Health Intern, as defined in 309-019-0105 (61)
QMHP's will need to become licensed within 2 years of their hiring date. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to conduct an assessment, including identifying precipitating events, gathering history of mental and physical health, substance abuse, past mental health services and juvenile detention services, assessing family, cultural, and social relationships, conducting a mental status examination, complete a DSM diagnosis, write and supervise the implementation of a Service Plan, and provide individual, family or group therapy within the scope of their training.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and core competencies for this position:
· Deliver and coordinate psychiatric services for youth and families
· Establish rapport by demonstrating clear, consistent, appropriate, and therapeutic boundaries
· Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and Behavior Rehabilitation Services Rules as they pertain to assessment tools and treatment plans
· Concisely and thoroughly document daily clinical information. Provide timely accurate documentation to meet billing requirements. Must adhere to Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) and standards of care.
· Demonstrate knowledge of and be able to efficiently access community resources, support services and referral systems for treatment and discharge planning.
· Demonstrate alignment with the philosophy of Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) by utilizing the approaches in interactions with youth, families, staff, and community partners.
· Provide treatment and assist in stabilization of youth using a variety of evidence based methods including wraparound, strengths based, and family-centered framework.
· Provide individual, group, and family therapy per treatment plan
· Formulate and document mental health assessments and treatment plans based on identified strengths and needs
· Maintain communication with essential staff regarding client needs and treatment plans while working in the therapeutic milieu
· Fulfill responsibilities for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) on call responsibilities
· Provide feedback and leadership to those working with the youth including skills coaches, med assistants, other team therapists, and direct family members
· Actively supervise and interact with youth both in the community as well as within the therapeutic milieu to maintain safety and provide psychiatric services
· Demonstrate knowledge of youth development and group dynamics by adjusting therapeutic approaches to development level and group interactions
· Occasionally provide transportation of youth to appointments and activities using a company vehicle
· Safely de-escalate youth, including in crisis situations, be effectively using verbal CPS intervention skills
· Participate in continuous quality improvement and assurance activities
· Abide by ethical codes, mission, values, and professional standards of Kairos, including confidentiality
· Actively utilize and refer to agency policies, procedures, and guidelines
· Comply with all federal, state and agency health and safety mandatory reporting guidelines
Additionally, candidates will need to:
· Provide proof of current valid Oregon's drivers license within 30 days of hire as well as automobile insurance. Candidates will also need to have a safe driving record for the past 3 years
· Successfully pass a Criminal Background check and Medicaid Fraud Check
· Obtain and Maintain Children's Emergency Safety Intervention Specialist Certification
· Obtain and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification and demonstrate proficiency in TCI certification procedures. Coastal requires occasional strenuous activity. Although occasional, the candidate must be able to withstand physical exertion through:
Dropping to the knees, supporting a youth's weight, bending, kneeling, and lunging
Arm and shoulder range of motion involving bending at the elbow and moving at the shoulder
Ability to support 50-100 pounds of weight using a combination of lower and upper body strength
Remain balanced while holding a struggling youth
Ability to go from a sitting position to a standing position quickly and without difficulty
Ability to quickly twist and turn
· Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification and obtain a current food handler's card
· Obtain and maintain National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and credentialing application process.
