About the Program

Coos Crisis Resolution Center (CCRC) is a 6-bed, licensed, short-term Residential Treatment Facility providing crisis resolution services and an alternative to emergency, short-term psychiatric hospitalization for those patients whose illness allows them to be treated in a residential setting.

About the Position

We are looking to hire On Call Mental Health Associates at our Coos Crisis Resolution Center in Coos Bay, Oregon. There is potential to work full-time hours by accepting multiple shifts. These shifts can either be at their current program or at other nearby programs. On Call staff also have first priority for any internal positions that allow more hours or a promotional opportunity. You will have an opportunity to specify your availability on our online application. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client suffering with mental illness (e.g. memory care unit at an Assisted Living Facility), then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: Days/Hours will vary and may include weekends & NOC Shifts

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; medication administration; and keep accurate clinical documentation. In addition, direct care staff must be willing and able to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) crisis de-escalation training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques.

Please keep the following things in mind:

On Call staff must work at least 24 hours per month to stay active on our roster

Attend a minimum of one staff meeting per month

Stay current on company training

Respond to facility requesting coverage within 4 hours of initial call. In some cases, more notice can be provided, up to three weeks’ advance notice

Qualifications

MUST be QMHA Certified through Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO)

MEET eligibility qualifications to register with MHACBO

State of Oregon QMHA credentials criteria:

a) Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR minimum 6,000 hours of verifiable mental health experience working with Severe Persistent Mental Illness population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

Successful applicants MUST have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $15.00 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials. We offer an On Call Incentive Bonus and an additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am.
