About the Program

Bell Cove was built in 2013 and specifically designed as a 5-bed, licensed Residential Treatment Home located in scenic Brookings, Oregon. Bell Cove is PSRB-designated program serving individuals who are affected by a mental illness and have exceptional medical care needs.

About the Position

We are looking to hire On Call Personal Care Associates at our Bell Cove program in Brookings, Oregon. There is potential to work full-time hours by accepting multiple shifts. These shifts can either be at their current program or at other nearby programs. On Call staff also have first priority for any internal positions that allow more hours or a promotional opportunity. You will have an opportunity to specify your availability on our online application. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving, then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: Days/Hours will vary and may include weekends & NOC Shifts

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; and pass medication. In addition, while we are an organization that does not practice seclusion or restraint, we do still require our direct care staff to successfully complete our Verbal and Physical Intervention (VPI) crisis de-escalation training, which includes performing various physical, evasion and safety maneuvers in class.

Please keep the following things in mind:

On Call staff must work at least 24 hours per month to stay active on our roster

Attend a minimum of one staff meeting per month

Stay current on company training

Respond to facility requesting coverage within 4 hours of initial call. In some cases, more notice can be provided, up to three weeks’ advance notice.

Qualifications

Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred

Dedication to the wellbeing of each client and helping them meet their activities of daily living (ADL)

Be attentive and engaging with clients both in the community and within program

Orient, train, and supervise residents to perform properly, safely, and independently within the guidelines of the Personal Care Plan

Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver’s license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

Starting at $14.00 per hour/DOE. We offer an On Call Incentive Bonus & an additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am. ColumbiaCare offers a comprehensive benefits package for part-time employees. Medical/Dental/Vision coverage for employees working 30 hours a week. All Part-Time/On-Call hourly employees receive time and a half when working a holiday and are eligible to receive up to 5 days of sick time and up to 12 days of vacation per year (accruals earned are based on hours worked).
