Our HOA department is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper (Full-time) to join our small team .

Required qualifications and skills:
Have experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook and Word
At least 2+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience preferably in HOA/COA
Knowledge of homeowner association management
Must have a general understanding of basic accounting data entry (i.e. accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy for bookkeeping and other duties
Proven ability to handle demanding situations and adapt to different environments
Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service
Excellent time management skills, great organizational skills, and be efficient with your work is a must!
Can-do attitude: you may not know the answer, but you will find out.
Ability to act independently, at the same time knowing when to ask questions
Responsibilities Include:
Bank account maintenance and reconciliation
General ledger accounts analysis and reconciliation
Preparation and review of financial statements
Accounts Payable and Receivable processing
Responsible for time sensitive payments including, but not limited to mortgages, insurance, bonds, owner distributions, and property taxes
Record all owner entries and ownership transfers, assisting with audits and auditor inquiries
Process Association invoices for payment; obtaining approvals from community managers and board members as necessary
Process and track payments, insurance claims, and loan payments as applicable
Ensure W-9 forms and proper insurance is obtained for all Association vendors
Assist with the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reviewing, and completing all assigned month-end functions
Review the HOA financial reports to ensure transactions are properly recorded, reconciliations are being performed monthly, and that the accounting is following the approved HOA budgets.
Respond to Association owners, board member and vendor accounting inquires
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Maintain organized, detailed files for accounting department
Maintain strong communication between all staff, especially Community Managers
Ensure security and confidentiality of data
Attend appropriate department and company meetings
Preparing and sending monthly financials statements to HOA board for approvals.
