The Cornell School is growing and we are looking for a full time qualified preschool / pre-K teacher We are a small, private preschool in the Cedar Mill/ Forest Heights area with a focus on families of working professionals.
The position is for a classroom of 10 children, 3-5 years old, with a 1:10 teacher to student ratio.
Must possess qualities to bring creative and practical ideas to better the work environment, lead and follow and bear a positive disposition towards colleagues, families, children and education.
Candidates must understand and uphold the philosophy of our school. Must be able to show thoughtfulness and creativity in developing and executing a process-based curriculum addressing different learning styles and skill levels in order to create an individualized learning environment. The lead teacher and assistant must have the following prior to starting work:
- An associates, bachelor or masters degree in early childhood education (ECE) or education or child psychology or 5+ years of experience working with children
- Experience in working in a licensed facility or willingness to learn and meet all standards as required by a licensed facility
- Current CPR/First Aid certificate
- Current Food Handler’s certificate
- Current Health and Safety training as required by Oregon Licensing
- Safe sleep training certificate
- Child Abuse and Neglect training certificate
We offer a great work environment with wonderful children and families. Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $22 per hour depending on qualification and experience. We also offer generous holiday and paid time off.
