Software

Development who is committed to helping team members overcome obstacles, guiding them to solve challenging problems, and ensuring the organization stays focused on delivering business value to our customers.As a leader of software development engineers, you will provide mentorship and guidance to a multi-disciplined team providing coaching and demonstrating technical excellence through the use of best practices, keen problem-solving, and collaboration with non-technical subject-matter-experts, engineering staff, and business owners across the organization. You will champion agile best practices as part of your product delivery responsibilities and your keen focus on customer success will see you be accountable for the operational quality and availability of the team’s deliveries.Ultimately, you’ll help us roll out high-impact products that deliver significant customer value in-line with our company’s vision.

Job Tasks:

Leadership & development of the team with individual objectives, task management, 1:1’s, annual reviews, status reports, and project planning.
Oversight and driver of the software development processes to drive efficient workflow through the development process and continuous integration
Oversee technology road map with the engineering and leadership team to improve the underlying costs and capabilities of the VMS software
Adherence to coding policies, technical documentation, and operational discipline as defined by the software development policy
Excellent communication skills for team leadership, software release documentation, client response, and leadership team updates
Responsibilities include involvement in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (Agile, Kanban & Waterfall) including technical requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, code deployment, and production support
Responsible for the maintenance and migration of legacy technology layers to modern industry-standard technologies
Ensure product quality goals are met or exceeded.
Responsible for risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the software including alignment to company Information Security policies and procedures
Participate and facilitate level-3 on-call support.
Vendor & Subcontractor management (including offshore, out-of-timezone)

Minimum Education/Certifications:

BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar relevant technical discipline

Preferred Education/Certifications:

MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar relevant technical discipline

Minimum Experience:

8+ years of hands-on development experience with modern languages
4+ recent years of experience managing 5+ direct reports; prior experience managing leaders
Experience in leading technology teams in a similar capacity.
3+ recent years of delivering cloud-based software

Preferred Experience

Working knowledge of cloud platforms, Azure preferred
Recent experience delivering .net based software
Experience of modern CI/CD pipelines, ADO preferred
