Our client has a new opportunity for a Field Service Technician. This position calls for local travel required for daily dispatch. Shifts include Mon-Fri or Tues-Sat 10-7, with occasional on-call rotation. This is a driving position which requires a DMV background check to be completed.Use of reliable, personal vehicle required - miles reimbursed according to CompuCom policy. Scope of Activity:
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals
- Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs
- Complete self-directed training and determine the most cost-effective repair to minimize customer downtime
- May require an Associate's degree or its professional experience equivalent
- A+ or Lexmark certifications preferred but not required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver s license required (driving position - reimbursed accordingly)
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience with printer maintenance and POS systems
- Must be able to complete self-directed training and have independent time management skills
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- Works under general supervision
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
