Actalent is looking to hire for an exciting technical leadership role on one of our major program teams, onsite at an important local client! Regional talent to Portland or the Pacific Northwest will be required, unless the individual has an outstanding profile for the role, and can relocate to Portland by mid June.Overview: Actalent Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Actalent Engineers and Technicians to support vehicle test fleets. Primary job duties involve technical project management with mechanical engineering focused product / sub-system testing. Secondary responsibilities involve people operations support including interviewing, onboarding, offboarding, time card management, people & project deliverable performance, schedule and spend tracking and reporting per customer’s requirements. This position will interface with various customer stakeholders externally as well as internally within Actalent.Primary responsibilities: Gather customer requirements, develop team allocation and deliverables’ schedule plans, prioritize activities for self and the team Coordinate with parts procurement for on-time parts arrival, manage part tracking, receipt and coordination with Internal customer teams and external suppliers Manage daily, bi-weekly and or weekly Vehicle Test meetings as necessary, represent Actalent team in internal Reliability Growth meeting(s), report project progress and performance updates to customers and Actalent Program Manager Coordinate with customers for truck builds and hardware installations, facilitate truck decommission planning and shipping of parts to Detroit Execute specific vehicle tests required to reach mileage targets maintaining > 80% vehicle availability throughout test Perform hardware issue resolution and consequent documentation in FiNAS Document vehicle powertrain BOM’s in FiNAS and maintain accuracy of vehicle hardware in FiNAS and DAVE Generate end-of-test reports for engine/after treatment/transmission/axles and submit detailed monthly project progress / performance summary / monthly deliverable report to customersSecondary responsibilities: Responsible for interviewing, onboarding, offboarding, time card management, people & project deliverable performance, schedule / spend tracking and reporting per customer requirements Track/approve engineering hours, travel expenses, vacation and holiday time for the team Conduct performance and development reviews of Engineers Qualifications: Experienced in engineering project management including team skills, deliverables / tasks and schedule planning and reporting. Experience working as liaison / interface between Technical / Engineering and Technicians. Previous lead/management/supervisory experience strongly preferred but could consider candidates who are willing to step up their careers to supervisory roles, with respected technical and communication skills.Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent 2+ years of vehicle test experience 2+ years of team leading experience Heavy duty / On-Highway truck experience nice to haveLocation Portland, ORQualified and interested applicants are encouraged to submit tailored resume as soon as possible.
