What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years demonstrated experience supporting a SaaS infrastructure
  • Mastery of Linux (CentOS/Alma/RHEL) and common services in a highly secure, complex environment
  • Mastery of virtualization technologies: OpenStack, KVM, oVirt and/or VMware
  • Strong experience with scripting languages: Bash, Python, Ruby, or Groovy
  • Experience with configuration management: Puppet or Ansible
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Can take ownership of technical issues and advocate for the best solution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to communicate project requirements and success criteria to peers or senior management

We'd love to see:
  • Experience supporting software developers and SRE teams, and sharing source code repositories such as Git/Bitbucket
  • Experience with open source DevOps tools such as rundeck, Sensu, grafana, Graphite, LibreNMS, Zabbix, ELK, or osquery
  • Experience with cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with TLS and internal PKI
  • Experience with load-balancers
  • Experience with storage and filesystems: NFS, iSCSI, ext4, XFS, ZFS
  • Datacenter best practices and bare metal bootstrapping: PXE, kickstart, Cobbler, or Foreman

Impact You'll Make:

TransUnion Global Fraud Solutions provides a hosted real-time decision engine published as an API endpoint. High availability, low latency, and thorough security are critical. The Lead Linux Engineer role is responsible for this foundation, which includes over 1000 Linux endpoints.

This role is perfect for an individual who can provide technical leadership by evaluating and improving current practices, and shaping future strategy. The Lead Linux Engineer will also prioritize and remediate security issues as identified by internal scans, and by the open source community.

This position will participate in production systems first level on-call rotation. The role is fully remote, with the option to work out of any TransUnion office.
