Role: TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

Location: Portland, OR REMOTE

ROLE SUMMARYLedgent Technology has partnered with an exciting client in the Portland market to support them in their search for their open Support Engineer role! The Support Engineer will play a significant role to provide technical support for assigned applications. The Support Engineer debugs and reads code as needed to troubleshoot issues reported by end users.

The successful candidate is required to have excellent autonomous problem-solving, collaboration, and communications skills (written and oral). This role will provide support for internal tier 1-2 support teams, engineering teams, research/resolve defects and promote fixes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Support Engineer works with the support team, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to provide technical support for production applications.
  • Troubleshoots, debugs, and documents programs or technical configuration.
  • Provides production support including off business hours support in the event of major outages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organization.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong motivation to create customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality end-user applications and by solving real problems for real users.
  • Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to debug code.
  • Troubleshooting application issues at the client and/or server level
  • Handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Diagnose and solve problems creatively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to varied audiences in writing, by phone, and in person.
  • Must work well in fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of SQL experience.
  • 3+ years of application support experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting package installs, upgrades, and server configurations.
  • Experience performing network diagnostics and/or knowledge of networking protocol.
  • Experience with change management processes and software development lifecycle.
  • Programming/Coding experience preferred.
  • AZURE experience preferred.
  • Delphi and C#.NET experience preferred.
  • Experience working with EHR/EMR healthcare information systems and messaging will be highly considered above other candidates.
  • Experience working with different data formats JSON, CSV, HL7, FHIR, C-CDA, EDI, etc.is preferred.
  • Experience with integration engines like Mirth, Corepoint, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, etc.is preferred.
  • Ability to test/troubleshoot API and SQL issues and make solution recommendations is preferred.
  • Experience with data extraction in relational databases including knowledge of ETL and T-SQL is preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare workflows and knowledge of health industry terminology is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare or healthcare support industry is strongly preferred.
