- Experience writing for engineers and engineering managers to create PRDs, design specs, deployment/installation guides, API documentation for partners, etc.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectually curious with a penchant for seeing opportunities in ambiguity
- Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio
- Four years of relevant experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing including experience with writing technical materials.
- Four years of relevant work experience, including experience researching and writing excellent documentation for developers (APIs, SDKs, web technologies).
- Familiarity with Docker, relational databases, no-SQL databases, API concepts, VMWare, AWS
- Experience with/understanding of networking concepts: VPNs, IPSec, DNS, SSL
- Experience with/understanding of telephony and call center concepts: ACD, VOIP
- Experience working with a distributed team.
- Experience must be technical in nature, not purely customer/consumer-facing documentation. This isn't drafting simplified/consumer-facing help docs or how-to's.
- Role will entail documenting internal infrastructure, including APIs and telephony backend structures. Must be proficient in understanding technical, backend structures.
- This is a solo tech writer role, who will support a team of highly technical infrastructure, IT, software, and telephony engineers. Must be able to collaborate, consult, and operate with fairly general guidance from tech team.
