We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Sushi Operations Assistant to support our sushi chefs at our sushi station in the Fisher's Landing New Seasons Market. This role combines food preparation and customer service, cutting and packaging sushi, heating prepared foods, sampling products to customers, and keeping displays stocked and inviting. The ideal candidate has strong kitchen common sense, works efficiently, and enjoys interacting with people as much as preparing food. A great opportunity for someone looking to learn the ins and outs of preparing sushi. This position is in Vancouver WA

Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and offering product samples

Cut and portion sushi rolls consistently and accurately

Heat and prepare cooked items (rice, noodles, proteins, sides) as directed

Package sushi rolls and meals neatly, consistently, and accurately

Label, organize, and restock products in display cases

Keep displays full, fresh, and visually appealing

Maintain cleanliness of workstations, packaging areas, and equipment

Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and overall kitchen cleaning

Support chefs and kitchen staff with prep, restocking, and daily operations

Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Qualifications

Strong kitchen common sense: safety, cleanliness, and efficiency

Clark County Food Handlers card (required), must be able to provide within 30 days of hire

Prior food handling, retail, or customer service experience a plus (training provided)

Friendly and professional communication skills when interacting with customers

Attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Team player with a positive attitude
