Portland Pet Food Company is now accepting applications for a Project Lead at our SE wholesale production facility in Portland, Oregon. Please send a resume and which shift you are interested in - must include the weekend.

Our team works closely with our bakers to ensure we are packaging a high-quality product that will be loved by dogs everywhere. We need a dedicated team leader who is extremely reliable. We are a team-oriented business and are growing rapidly.

Job Description: This position supports the Operations Department by ensuring that production goals are met through providing support, knowledge, and guidance to the packaging and fulfillment staff. To ensure overall success, the fulfillment staff will occasionally assist bakery staff. Training will be provided for all tasks assigned and equipment used.

Rate of Pay: Starting at $22.00 per hour

Schedule: 24- 40 hours weekly, 3 – 5 days including weekends, 7:00am – 3:30pm or 11:00am to 7:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

Proficient in operating all packaging and warehouse equipment

Possess in-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation codes

Maintains communication between the production manager and associates

Leads staff with real-time directives, task delegation, project preparation, schedule & break management, and corrective feedback

Complete training for new employees, ongoing training for all staff, and ensure all SOP & SSOP are followed

Ensure quality and safety are represented in all products and procedures by avoiding and correcting all food safety issues immediately, and following and imposing company policies

Complete and verify required paperwork

Maintain facilities and equipment and impose safe work practices

Ensure FIFO system for all supplies, ingredients, and finished goods

Participate in maintenance, R&D projects, inventory, and other specialized operational tasks

Experience & Attributes:

Education & Training

o Multnomah County Food Handler’s required

o Warehouse, shipping and receiving education and/or professional experience preferred

Professional Experience

o Food manufacturing and warehouse operations

o Project planning and small team leadership

Personal Experience and Work Ethic

o Flexible in daily tasks and adaptable to growth and change

o Affinity for time management and maintains reliable attendance

o Confident with receiving & offering corrective feedback, and peer-to-peer communication

Physical Requirements:

Stand and walk continuously during an 8-hour shift

Ability to regularly lift 40 pounds

Frequent stooping, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and lifting

Operation of basic warehouse equipment, including an electric pallet jack (training provided)
