ERP PMO Senior Manager is responsible for developing and managing the ERP Portfolio and Project Management Office (PPMO) delivery with accountability for planning, leadership, management, direction and administration for activities for PSJH. This position will assist the Director in managing the strategy, policies and practices for staff supporting PSJH implementations including communicating performance levels.

The Senior Manager ensures that all programs and projects assigned are appropriately planned, managed and delivered to meet customer defined value metrics, regulatory mandates and ongoing business requirements. The Senior Manager provides leadership to maximize financial resources, quality, cost effectiveness and responsiveness by working closely with project sponsors, internal and external stakeholders and collaboration with technology, applications, operations, informatics, customer service and strategy business teams.

Strategic:
  • Maintains relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders in order to leverage best practices, evaluate emerging strategies, and distribute knowledge internally to develop, inform plans and strategies.
  • Implements appropriate project delivery models for ERP where the ERP organization is a trusted adviser in defining, delivering, and improving services for the enterprise and its customers.
  • Ensure understanding and alignment of ERP PPMO with ERP strategic direction.
  • Support strategic planning processes, including project road mapping, prioritization, and budgeting.
  • Keep current on best practice principles to ensure they are integrated into all project plans and execution.
  • Champions a clear vision for ERP PPMO to provide clarity regarding the role of the ERP PPMO in supporting the Providence missions.
  • Promote and educate the PPMO methodology to clients outside of the PPMO to allow them to leverage the benefits of standard processes on their smaller scale project efforts.

Management:
  • Supports the implementation of standards and policies for the Portfolio and Project Management Office development across ERP.
  • Monitors the performance of the project management staff and evaluates the performance on the basis of specific KPIs.
  • Oversees budgeting and expenditures for Portfolio and Project Management staff and services and projects they oversee.
  • Leads the development of and monitors compliance with policies and procedures for ERP PPMO services throughout ERP.
  • Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of Project Delivery.
  • Implements and maintains departmental Collaborative Service Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs as it relates to project management.
  • Establish PPMO competencies, standards, and best practices, and supports the Project Managers in the practical deployment of these.

Operational:
  • Oversees operations for the specific areas of Project Management.
  • Maintains the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable Project Management functions that support the growth and financial objectives of ERP. Manages the delivery of Projects/Programs while continuously evaluating new and emerging methodologies to expand service delivery and reduce cost.
  • Build project management expertise within ERP PPMO to meet projected business by providing coaching, training, skill assessments, job assignments, and feedback.
  • Review complex project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project staffing requirements and allotment of resources. Validate business assumptions about project and life cycle costs.
  • Communicate regularly with Director and other IS leadership, including regular status reporting and visibility to key project issues, risks, schedules, and resource conflicts.
  • Meet with business sponsors to review performance, goals and new projects. Act as a liaison to key business stakeholders, including steering committees and other senior management.

  • Strong knowledge of current best practices in project/program management.

  • Ability to formulate and communicate key priorities that guide and focus the efforts of others. Exceptional organization ability and the ability to achieve goals in the face of multiple pressures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply effective business strategies and strategic planning; a strategic business focus and understanding; understanding of how projects are tied to business goals and objectives.
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycle, methodology and structure/governance; demonstrated ability to develop and deploy PM methodologies to organizations.
  • Proficiency with operating and capital budgeting tools.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to rapidly summarize complex information and present to others.
  • Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute strategic plans for highly complex issues; healthcare information services operations and support; methodologies related to application management such as system deployment, support, and life cycle.
  • Proven ability to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization.
  • Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.
