Greentree Automotive is looking for the right person to fill many hats in our busy shop. We are an Asian Automotive repair shop that specializes in Subarus with Toyota and Honda making up a fair amount of the work as well. Located In Hood River Oregon. Shop hours are 8 to 5 Monday through Friday most holidays paid off.
The position is complex in many ways. While I am not opposed to training someone with many years experience in the field it is not a position for someone that does not have quite a bit of mechanical and technical experience. Pay will reflect that. $100,000 to $160,000 to start is what I have in the budget. Two weeks paid vacation first year, three weeks paid at the end of your second year. Many other benefits come with this position.
The job description is impossible to put in writing. It is basically the full spectrum of keeping the shop in motion. Assisting technicians with complex issues, filling in for them when there out is probably the most important and highest skilled part of the position. Being qualified and mentally and physically capable for this challenge is quite a bit to ask for. From there writing service dealing with customers and parts departments follows suit.
Some days you will be cleaning the shop, office and bathrooms. I will tell you this is probably the easiest part of the job but it is something that you cannot think is beneath you. It is also something that you'll find your doing often when the shop is very busy.
You will not be alone in this position myself and another shop foreman/manager are here. So you will not normally be left with no one to help, but it does happen and that is literally where this position comes from. I am at a level in age and life that requires me to start unwinding the level of work I perform. And I plan to start taking more time off after we have a person in place that can handle the shop in my absence. I also do some towing work which can be lucrative in ways that benefit the shop and business.
We currently use a highly modified version of Quick Books for invoicing but are planning to move to Shopware or Techmetrix soon experience with these are also a plus but not required.
Asian automotive experience is a plus but not necessarily a big factor if you posses enough skills in other areas. I think techs with experience and training in all other car car lines find Subaru to be an easy transition. We also have enough masters in all areas rolling around in the shop that cover a diverse level of skills that our shop runs smoother than any I have ever seen before. We roll cars quickly, have a huge parts inventory and a customer base that is very stable and our location is the best in the area.
