FSE Wildland Firefighter Training has already begun for 2019 Wildland Fire Season!

Classes and Work Capacity Fit Test (WCFT) aka pack tests are going on now! No Experience is required to be a wildland firefighter. Don't put it off your training until the last minute, get it done before the season is here so you can be one of the first to get a call for assignment! Space is limited! Wildland fire season is a great adventure and a fantastic opportunity to put some in your bank.

FSE is a professional private contractor with over 32-years in the industry. FSE provides 20-person hand crews as well as Type 6 and Type 4 Engines; as resources under government contracts to respond to incidents such as wildland fire suppression. We are looking for dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented members to join our team and these resources. No experience is necessary for entry level positions. The more experienced personnel have gained leadership and value through their time and training. POSITIONS:

FSE is currently are looking for the following:

(FFT2) - Entry level firefighter; No experience & Experienced positions

(FFT1) “ Advanced firefighter/Squad Boss

(ENGB) - Engine Boss

(CRWB) - Crew Boss

Sawyers

Engine and Hand-crew Drivers - clean DMV record

REQUIREMENTS:

All positions must by 18 years of age. Complete application requirements with FSE. All applicants are subject to background check and drug screen prior to employment.

Must have minimum of one piece of Government Issued ID. Must have successfully completed current year certified training requirements (link to training qualification system for all wildland firefighters NWCG NIMS Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide PMS 310-1 see https://www.nwcg.gov/publications).

WHAT TO DO:

- Complete current year training requirements and Annual WCFT (a 3-mile walk with a 45-pound backpack completed in less than 45 minutes)

- Get your gear together and have it all ready.

- Start breaking in your 8 minimum vibram sole, no steel toe boots; if you havent already.

- Have yourself ready to respond at a moments notice.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Traveling outside of the county and the state are highly likely. Work environment typically consists of extreme terrain and conditions, long shift hours (example: 8-16-hour day or night shift) while staying on this assignment in a camp environment (typically 14-day assignments). The average wildland fire season runs July through September; but can go from May through November.

WAGE: DOE (Depends on experience).

Wage rates will depend on your experience, position, and; contract rates. FSE provides health insurance, dental, vision, vacation, sick, holiday pay and Simple IRA plan for each employee upon their eligibility. (meeting or exceeding all state and federal law).
