The ODI Families Actively Improving Relationships (FAIR) Clinic, in partnership with Juniper Tree Counseling, is seeking a clinical supervisor who will provide support and supervision to the 3-4 member clinical team made up of QMHP and QMHA level counselors in Douglas County, Oregon, and carry a small caseload. The FAIR Clinical Supervisor has a combination of clinical and administrative duties to help keep the program running smoothly, and ensure counselors are able to focus on providing intensive services to families. Services are provided at times and places that are convenient to clients (e.g., home, school, community). The FAIR program uses a team approach to treatment, and the Clinical Supervisor works with the Program Director (Lisa Saldana) to provide leadership to the team.

Clients referred to the FAIR program are referred for co-occurring substance abuse, child neglect, and mental health concerns. Some clients do not yet have a substance use disorder, but are at risk for developing a disorder. The majority of clients are involved with and referred by ODHS Self-Sufficiency and Child Welfare programs. The FAIR program integrates evidence-based strategies to address substance use, parenting deficits, mental health problems, and ancillary needs (e.g., housing, employment). All applicants must feel comfortable with providing services to individuals with this presentation in the home and community settings. The FAIR Clinical Supervisor will provide on-call and back-up coverage to team members. The Clinical Supervisor will conduct many of the intake assessments and, therefore, this individual is often the first point of contact that clients have with FAIR. Ability to engage is key!

A strong FAIR Clinical Supervisor will understand the importance of balancing positive reinforcement of staff with the need for consistent monitoring (e.g., ensuring paperwork is filed in a timely manner, reviewing clinical assessments and ODHS reports for appropriate language), and will understand the value of warmth and humor in daily interactions. The FAIR Clinical Supervisor will be well-versed in HIPAA compliance and will assist counselors in maintaining compliance with all procedures.
